LEARNING OUTCOMES

  • Evaluate the significance of pre-treatment systems in the successful operation of RO plants, analyzing their role in removing impurities and protecting the membranes.
  • Assess the design and operation of intake and screening plants, including disinfection processes, and explain their importance in maintaining water quality for RO plants.
  • Analyze the principles and processes of coagulation and flocculation, and evaluate their effectiveness in removing suspended particles and improving water clarity prior to RO treatment.
  • Examine different types of filtration systems, including filter media and underdrains, and assess their impact on water quality and the prevention of membrane fouling in RO plants.
  • Apply knowledge of filter operation and performance, including monitoring and maintenance practices, to ensure optimal filtration efficiency and prevent issues such as breakthrough and excessive pressure drop.

PREREQUISITES

  • Basic knowledge of English language equivalent to the standards shown in the Basic English Course No. 31212.
  • Trainee must have attended short courses No. 13207.
