Overview

This course provides an integrated understanding of the chemical life cycle, from receipt at a facility through the safe disposal of chemical waste, with emphasis on associated health, environmental, and regulatory considerations. It addresses chemical hazards, safe storage, handling and internal transport, personal protective equipment, spill and exposure response, chemical classification and labeling, waste management, emergency preparedness, regulatory compliance, and documentation. Participants will be able to recognize chemical hazards, apply compatibility-based storage and safe-handling practices, interpret SDS, GHS, UN, and NFPA information, support emergency response, and maintain records that strengthen control and continuous improvement.
